Note: Sample shown (Large) used all but 3.5 meters of 1 skein of Main Color. If you are a loose knitter, keep a 2nd skein on hand, just in case.
Contrasting color needs 10g (15yds / 13.5m) approx.

Needles: US size 2.5 (3 mm) circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge and/or DPNS when stitch count at crown becomes unmanageable

Notions: Five stitch marker, Tapestry needle, 2 Bobbins (or pegs) and measuring tape

The finished hat length is 9.5 - 10" approx. The brim has a negative ease of about -5". For a deeper slouch, work the body length of the hat until it reaches 8", instead of the instructed 7" from cast on edge, before working the crown shaping.

Designer Note: The beanie is knitted in the round from the bottom up, using a circular needle. The ribbing is worked using the contrast color for the first few rounds, followed by the main color. A small bobbin of contrast color yarn is worked up one half of the hat, and is then repeated on the other half. The body of the hat is worked with the featured diagonal 2-stitch cables on both halves of the hat until your desired length, then the crown is shaped. Both vertical lines will meet at the top fo the crown.
